CLV is strongly committed to reducing the environmental impact of our properties in both the development and operations phases.
Our approach to sustainability helps the environment and reduces running costs – both of which increase the value of the asset over the long-term.
CLV is experienced in delivering a range of sustainable solutions including:
- Grey water recycling
- Rainwater harvesting
- Thermal mass construction
- Cross ventilation (minimising the need for air conditioning systems)
- Solar boosted hot water systems
- Long life, low maintenance recyclable finishes
- Natural lighting and low energy fixtures
To ensure ongoing benchmarking of our sustainability initiatives, regular Qualmark environmental assessments are undertaken at many of our properties. The Enviro-rating system assesses the commitment of a business to environmental sustainability and recognises businesses that work to reduce their environmental impact. UC Accommodation Student Village and Massey Manawatu Halls both achieved Enviro-Silver Qualmark ratings in 2012.
