Student Village, University of Bedfordshire

CLV opened its first purpose-built student accommodation project in the UK in 2011, following a partnership with the University of Bedfordshire to develop and manage its residences. CLV worked with the University to create 852 new purpose-built beds, launching Fitzroy Court in September 2011 and Wenlock Court 12 months later.

The development forms part of the University’s £180 million transformation project at the Luton campus and each building offers a range of standard, deluxe and studio rooms, along with extensive communal areas. These include quiet study rooms, active recreational areas and a fully equipped gym. Social spaces were refurbished in 2013 to meet the ongoing changing needs of its student customer.

CLV operates the facility under a 35-year Strategic Partnering Agreement with the University, and includes within its operational brief the management of 993 rooms of University-owned accommodation. Leading global construction consultant, Davis Langdon, is CLV’s development partner, and acclaimed global civil engineering company, Kier International, delivered the project on a fixed price turnkey basis.
