Welcome to this quarters’ Business Update. The team have been busy with a range of exciting projects.
November 8th saw the trial launch of our new and exciting rebrand of our existing short-stays/summer stays business which is currently being trialed at both Griffith University Village, Queensland and Massey, Auckland – Te Ohanga Village. This trial will continue into the New Year, following which we plan to roll out across all villages in both regions.
New Year. New Ideas for 2018
For new Australian students taking up residence in the new academic year we are also piloting a new and innovative partnership with marketing agency Commando, who work closely with leading brands. Whereby, they will be providing all new residents with a small welcome pack which includes a small selection of free consumable products and a voucher book for discounted future purchases.
We hope that this will be the start of a new and industry first initiative for all future CLV residents.
Otago Polytechnic Student Village
Otago Polytechnic Student Village, Te Pa Tauira (OPSV) is a brand-new, on-campus Student Village in Dunedin managed by CLV. The purpose-built 231-bed furnished residential village offers fully-catered single rooms (dorms), self-catered studios (standard or deluxe) and four-bedroom apartments. Constructed using sustainable materials, the Village is designed with student life and community development in mind.
Mobilisation activity over the last quarter has included significant progress on building construction, sales and marketing, an open day, contracting for 2018 let up and full team recruitment.
The recently appointed Village Team, led by Village Manager Andy Thompson, has also been busy forming and we welcome Max Sims (Community Manager), Andrea Vaughan (Customer Service Agent), Kate Reid (Customer Service Agent) and six Residential Assistants for 2018 (Julia, Karen, Lucy, Soreka, Tim and Mhairi) to CLV. The Evening Duty Manager position is currently being recruited.
The OPSV team are excited about resident’s arrival on 11th February and planning is well underway for Move-In and Orientation. An exciting calendar is planned for Village inductions, social interaction and connecting residents into the Polytechnic to ensure academic success.
