Shout out to Bex at Sonoda –

She has been a HUGE help to me in regards to debt and managed to clear the majority of debt at Sonoda by herself with only minimal assistance.

I really appreciate her help, she always does it with a smile on her face and she has made my life so much easier!!

A big shout out goes to the efforts of the RA team at SCU Village. Not only did they create a great night for residents to socialize and relax, they promoted and helped raise $1,231.00 for Lismore Women & Children’s Refuge brought forward in the recent Respect Now Always campaign. Awesome effort and awareness of the wider community. As part of the greater goal to support community and raise awareness with our staff and residents the Res Life Program has once again provided a great opportunity to build on the ability to help others. Whether local or wider based, charities are showing their appreciation in return.

How we love the fact that super happy joyful announcements all come at once.. that’s right.. the biggest announcement from SUV land is that our gorgeous Joanna is expecting a bub in the not too distant future – A princess in the making and she might be called Daisy!  .. And, my oh my, what is that on Belinda’s finger, a HUGE Diamond ring??!!? That’s right, our beloved VM is now engaged and will be busy planning the wedding of a life time.

Kerri Kohler-Saunders, Residential Assistant at Waitākiri Village, was the New Zealand delegate at the 5th Model IFRC General Assembly held from 10-13 August 2016 in Korea.  This conference was hosted by the Korean Red Cross in cooperation with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Kerri was awarded a “Certificate of Distinction”, the “Korean Red Cross Henry Dunant Award” for “outstanding participation in the 5th Model IFRC General Assembly”, and is the highest award given to a delegate.

Kerri is a highly valued member of the Waitākiri team and we are all incredibly proud of him and his achievements.

A massive shout out to our RA, Angus Howat for starting our Humans of Uni Hall Facebook page – a wonderful initiative for connecting our 550 Uni Hall residents with each other sharing real and relative stories about growing up and seeing their world in an ‘adult’ world.

The Yarra House team want to extend a big congratulations to Gorana and Michael on the birth of their daughter Emilia Grace D’Aloia. Emilia was born on Sunday 11 September at 7.02pm, weighing in at 3.31kg and measured 46cm long.

Welcome to the team Stephanie Wood. Stephanie joined Team Yarra on 01 August replacing Gorana as she takes her maternity leave for 12 months. Stephanie has already been making an impact on the residents and we are all looking forward to the next 12 months.

Big Happy Birthday to Michael Lynch from Team Yarra. We hope you had a fantastic day.

A massive shout out to Rachel Manson for all her hard work and assistance with the short stays. Couldn’t have made it work without you Rach.

A big shout out to the UOCV team for an awesome start to Semester 2. Up to 950 beds filled and smashing short stays! It was a huge effort from all of the staff, particularly the Facilities Team for getting an extra 60 beds open for all the new arrivals. So a big thanks Craig Parker and team, plus all the office staff!
