The world’s best young sailors are taking over three Auckland villages in mid December in an exciting Summer Stays success for CLV in New Zealand. AUT Wellesley Student Accommodation, Akoranga Student Village and Massey Albany will collectively host over 650 sailors and team members for a total of 5,000 bed nights.

The 2016 Youth Sailing World Championships, run by World Sailing, is expected to attract around 400 young sailors from up to 70 nations to Auckland this summer.

Village Manager, Nicola Valentine, is very pleased to welcome the group. “They chose us because we could provide accommodation for all of their people across multiple villages. They wanted Massey in particular as this is only 10 minutes away from the event. They love the accommodation and the catering.”

“In particular Massey were able to offer sponsorship so this should heighten our profile globally and receive exposure for future sporting groups and potential students for the University and accommodation,” she said.

Yachting New Zealand’s Chief Executive, David Abercrombie, said, “We’re a nation of yachties and boaties, we have incredible sailing waters and we have some of the best race management people in the world. The 2016 edition of the Youth World Championships will be quintessentially kiwi and everyone who has the privilege to come to New Zealand this December to represent their country will remember this experience for a lifetime.”
