The Role

An exciting opportunity exists in our Australian business, for the role of Assistant Manager, reporting to the Village Manager. The role will be based at RMIT Village, managing a total of 616 beds.

The Assistant Manager will ensure that quality and service within the Village is maintained to agreed standards, with consideration made to the Village residents, visitors, and primary stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Operations and day-to-day running of the Village.
  • Work with the Village Manager to achieve agreed budgeted occupancy targets.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the Village to ensure all standards and services are being delivered.
  • Support the delivery of a residential life program that supports the requirements of CLV’s Live Learn and Grow framework.
  • Provide advice, guidance and support to residents and work with the Village Manager to ensure access to support 24/7.
  • Assist the Village Manager with recruitment needs.
  • In conjunction with the Village Manager, actively engage with University staff and Management to develop and maintain a positive working relationship.
  • Assisting in the management of the any DLP (Defect Liability Period).
  • Assist in the management of other properties managed by RMIT Village.

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Ability to analyse, interpret and communicate accurate financial information.
  • A formal qualification in a relevant area, preferably in hotel or business management, attained at University or other tertiary educational institution.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, database management systems such as StarRez and web content management systems.
  • Ability to lead, manage and direct staff and contractors in the operation of their duties.
  • Experience in an operational management role in a service based industry.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current VIC Working with Children Check.
