The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Duty Manager, reporting to the Village Manager, to join the team at Western Sydney University Village, Nirimba campus.

The Duty Manager is responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining the agreed standard for safety and security for all Residents, dealing with Resident enquiries and assisting the Village’s Operations team.

You will need to be available to work a combination of evening and day shifts based on the business needs of the Village. An essential component of this role is flexibility in available working hours, due to the variation between shift types.

We are looking for a responsible person who is customer service focused and safety & security minded.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accommodation related customer service role in an equivalent position, preferably student accommodation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience and skills;
  • Experience in customer relations, feedback response and dispute resolution.
  • Ability to remain calm and in control during potentially difficult situations;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of security procedures and responses;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to maintain good working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, database management systems
  • Ability to meet tight timeframes without compromising accuracy and customer service whilst maintaining a calm and friendly approach.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • NSW Working with Children Check.
  • A current Australian drivers licence
