CLV manages two communities at The University of Sydney, Queen Mary Building and Abercrombie Student Accommodation. There are 1,000 residents across both of these communities.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Night Duty Manager, reporting to the Operations Manager. This person will be rostered alternating weeks between Queen Mary Building and Abercrombie Student Accommodation.

This is not a traditional hotel style role and requires a common-sense approach to conflict resolution and Resident management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building operations in the absence of senior management outside of business hours.
  • First point of contact for the residents.
  • Provision of customer service through the operation of the reception services of the facility overnight.
  • Adhere to building rules by residents and visitors, incident management, security patrols.
  • Administrative tasks including assistance with the resident life program, debtor management and updating the property management system.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accommodation related customer service role.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading, inspiring and developing teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in customer relations, feedback response and dispute resolution.
  • High level of competency in a range of software packages including MS Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to meet tight timeframes without compromising accuracy and customer service whilst maintaining a calm and friendly approach.
  • Previous experience in the hotel or hospitality industry in a similar capacity.
  • Degree, diploma or other qualification in Hospitality, Business Administration or other relevant field.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Must hold current National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
