We are currently looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at Campus Living Villages: Village Central Manchester. You will be supporting the Finance and Commercial teams in conducting Village and Business analysis, Financial Modelling, Cashflow forecasting and Capital analysis.


What will you be doing?

Village and Business Analysis

  • Provide business reviews and analysis on the performance of existing portfolio of assets.
  • Working with the Group Head Office, UK CEO’s and Heads of Finance to determine strategies for dealing with underperforming assets and with villages where opportunities to expand exist.
  • Work with Head Office to build and maintain portfolio information resources.
  • Work with Head office to enhance the integration and flow of information from business systems to information end users.
  • Establish and monitor metrics to measure performance of the portfolio, including establishing information sources to achieve this including KPI’s and model comparisons
  • Involvement in reporting to third parties covering Joint Venture or University partners, banks and other stakeholders as well as support Finance Heads and Finance Managers
  • Build and maintain systems and reports to monitor the performance of the portfolio against Base Case Financial Models and highlighting areas of divergence.
  • Build and maintain systems and reports to monitor the performance of the portfolio against benchmarks, both internal and external.
  • Build and maintain systems and reports to monitor the portfolio’s future capex requirements (LCCP’s).

Fund Model & Investors

  • Assist with the preparation and maintain the UK component of the NAV Booklet for Board and Investor reporting purposes
  • Contribute to the preparation of Investor reports and continuous analysis of asset performance (actual vs budget and operational metrics)
  • Support Finance Managers in analysis during month and Quarter end

Financial Modeling

  • As and when required, review financial models associated with acquisitions, developments and (re)financings.
  • Consider asset management reporting and other business case investigations and support for existing assets in the portfolio

CLV and external party reporting

  • Involvement in the reporting requirements including CFO reporting and compliance obligations
  • Consider asset management reporting and other business case investigations and support for existing assets in the portfolio


What you need to have:

  • Ability to analyse and report financial data as well as navigating and maintaining detailed financial models and analysis including the modelling of debt and cash flows to equity.
  • Good knowledge in assessing and interpreting a large amount of qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources across CLV finance and operational business applications
  • Strategic thinker, able to access complex matters and provide timely, relevant, succinct analysis and advice
  • Articulate and persuasive, communicating financial outcomes to a broad range of stakeholder groups.
  • Strong Project Management and organisational skills with previous success in delivering business projects on time and within budget
  • Advanced Excel (including Excel Analysis Services) skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Powerpoint and SharePoint
  • High ethical standards, integrity and commitment to all business and commercial dealings.

Qualifications required:


  • Experience in the property industry, infrastructure or funds management preferable.
  • Experience in operational and portfolio analysis.
  • Experience managing in a multinational environment.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence tools.


  • Actuarial or Commerce/Business/Finance or similar undergraduate degree.
  • Valuation or project finance related qualifications and/or experience
  • Qualified Accountant
