Who are we looking for?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveying student on their placement year or recently graduated, to join a dynamic business with ambitious growth plans. Proactively assisting the Development and Commercial Managers within the Commercial Team including liaising with the greater UK CLV team.
Reporting to the Development Manager this role will provide assistance to the Commercial Manager and Development Manager within the Commercial team. Our role is to progress new construction projects from bid to completion ensuring quality student rooms are delivered on time and to budget.
What you’ll be doing
You will use your new and exciting experience gained from the first few years of your Quantity Surveying course to support and assist the Development Manager. You’ll get stuck into the management of on-site construction projects, pre-contract negotiation and bid writing.M50
There will be plenty of opportunities for you to gain valuable experience throughout your placement year, and we will definitely keep you busy. As the job title says, you’ll be providing assistance to the Development Manager by resolving and progressing tasks through managing construction contracts, which will be varied and deadline focused. Preparing reports will also be an important part of your role as these will include board reports, financial reporting and also reporting to our University Partners. Another interesting area of your role will be to complete work around procurement and risk management, along with working on cost analysis too.
