Residential Assistant – Everton Hall, Wellington

Campus Living Villages provide accommodation for tertiary students around New Zealand and Residential Assistants (RA’S) are an integral part of our operation and success. We are currently looking for motivated, hardworking people who have a drive to be a leader within the student accommodation community. If you are enrolled in full time study at VUW for 2019 and are interested in being a support and role model for our residents, then this could be the role for you.

The RA team live onsite and are usually rostered to work 15 hours per week. These shifts happen during evenings and over the weekend. This is a unique role which although at times can be challenging, is also full of meaningful experiences. This role provides an opportunity to grow your leadership skills and gain transferable work skills, which will undoubtedly be useful for your future career. All of this happens while working alongside a diverse team of your peers who often turn into lifelong friends.

The RA key duties and responsibilities include;

  • Providing peer, pastoral and academic support to residents.
  • Resident engagement through events, competitions and meetings.
  • Contributing to admin and customer service related tasks when required.
  • Upholding high standards of health and safety procedures and able to identify issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Any other adhoc duties as and when required.
