The Role

An exciting opportunity exists in our Australian business, for the role of a Residential Life Manager, reporting to the Village Manager. The role will be based at CLV’s University of Sydney Portfolio which comprises, Queen Mary Building (800 beds), Abercrombie Student Accommodation (200 beds) and The Regiment – Student Accommodation (620 beds), managing Residential Life for a total of 1,620 residents.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Organizing, promoting, and running of Resident events and activities.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to students, directly and through the supervision of student Resident Assistants.
  • Ensure that Resident Assistants maintain a logbook whilst on duty, and maintain appropriate records in the event of accidents, breaches of rules or conflicts.
  • Manage the Village “Live, Learn & Grow” program or the Residential Life program specifically developed by the University.
  • Manage the Residential Life Supervisor, and team of Residential Life coordinators (x5) and Residential Life Assistants (x43).
  • Oversee and assist the Resident Life Team in developing and running programs for residents that will assist in their development socially, culturally and academically.
  • Act as a key point of contact regarding all aspects of village life.
  • Establish positive relationships with internal and external Village stakeholders

Essential criteria for this role includes:

  • Experience in a customer service environment, preferably hotels or the University sector.
  • Experience using accommodation management software such as ‘StarRez’.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • High level of competency in a range of software packages including MS Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict in a diverse environment
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise a range of tasks.
  • Degree or Diploma in marketing/conference and events management or relevant experience.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Current NSW Working with Children check.
