Village Manager, AUT (Auckland)

Campus Living Villages (CLV) offers student accommodation to University Tertiary students around New Zealand and the Globe.  We operate on a vision of supporting our students to Live, Learn and Grow.  Our team is integral to supporting students as they strive for academic success.

We are looking for our next team member to join our team at Auckland University of Technology Village.  This position, in partnership with the University, is responsible for operational performance and ensuring business objective are met, staff are engaged and students are satisfied.

We need a highly self-motivated and empathetic leader who is results focused and in addition to meeting business performance targets, able to develop the culture of the community and provide the necessary guidance, support and culture to allow our residents to meet their potential and achieve academic success.

Duties and responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Lead and develop a high performing and passionate team
  • Risk management
  • Achieving full occupancy targets for the Village
  • Maintain the community while demonstrating community, respect, equality, accountability, trust and enthusiasm
  • Developing and extending relationships with stakeholders and key partners to the business
  • Generate reports to a high level
  • Work to targets and KPI’s
  • Basic financial accounting
  • Managing the administrative functions of the Village including contracting, debtor management and managing the budget.
  • Managing contractors

This role will require someone who is dynamic, engaging and able to work in a fast paced and evolving environment.  We pride ourselves on supporting and developing a great culture and the ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working in an educational, hotel management or accommodation setting
  • Strong people management skills and being able to get ‘buy in’ from your team while leading from the front
  • Financial and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbally and written
  • Being able to adapt to change while having a ‘can-do’ attitude and being solutions focused to support your student community
  • Experience working with students
  • It is critical that you have an outgoing demeanor and are able to inspire your team while being approachable, fun and hard working
