Jimmy Wong from Masterchef heads up Village Bites campaign

CLV Australia has launched its first national social media campaign, Village Bites, featuring Jimmy Wong from Masterchef 2016.

Residents at villages across Australia have submitted their favourite healthy “cheap eats” recipes across Facebook and Instagram via the hashtag, #villagebites. State winners will receive $150 and be flown to Sydney to participate in a cook off at Sydney University Village to vie for the $1000 national prize on 20 October!

Focusing on the wellbeing of our residents through healthy and affordable cooking, the campaign has encouraged residents to showcase their cooking skills whilst promoting the Live, Learn, Grow program.

Jimmy Wong, whose specialty on Masterchef was putting a modern spin on Asian-Australian cuisine, said, “Everybody wants to be able to cook well. They just need to know how.”

“What excites me the most about Village Bites is that, for me, it’s all about food and people – these two loves of mine coming together.”

Resident submissions, as well as contributions from Jimmy, will be featured in a cookbook at the end of the competition.
