We attended The Class Conference 2016 in Vienna last week, hosted by the Class of 2020 – a leading think tank and platform on student housing in Europe.
The annual event, attended by our CEO, Operations Director, Commercial Director, Finance Director, Senior Marketing Manager and Legal Advisor, ran over two days and explored everything from resident life to architecture and design.
The delegation – consisting of investors, developers, operators and universities from across Europe – came to together to receive high-quality information and share best practices.
Day one saw delegates tour some of the housing and campus projects in the city, a first-time host of the conference, exploring new trends in sustainable student living. Day two continued to discover other new concepts in student living, with two of our own team sitting on discussion panels.
Martin Hadland, Commercial Director, spoke on an interactive panel around Brexit and the impact it may have on the accommodation market whilst Rob Moyle, Operations Director, discussed what makes for an effective operating model.
The conference was a great success, working towards its aim of achieving a student housing market that is open, international and developed to fully accommodate student needs.
Richard Gabelich, Chief Executive Officer, said: “At Campus Living Villages we are continually exploring how we can be the best we can be. By attending conferences such as this we get to explore and hear best practice from colleagues across Europe. This year was no different, and it was reassuring to see that, as a global operator, Campus Living Villages is leading from the front with things that we do. We look forward to being part of the conference when we head to Lisbon in 2017.”
